Bathing:
Usually, hedgehogs only get a bath when they need it. (Feet are soiled or if they annoint a lot.) If their feet are just soiled - it is easiest to just have them walk in shallow water. It is best to give a hedgehog a bath in the sink, with a small amount of warm water. The water level should be just below your hedgehog's chin (about 1-2 inches depth). Some hedgehogs love bath time, others do not. Hedgehogs do not raise their quills well when wet. Do not use soap. If your hedgehog has dry skin, or is having a hard time quilling - you can give them a Aveeno-Oatmeal bath.
Nail Trimming:
It is best to do this while they are taking a bath. This can be tricky. Use a cat nail trimmer. If you cut too deep, and it starts to bleed, use cornstarch to help stop the bleeding. Don't brush the cornstarch off.
